HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR LIP BLUSH

You’ve booked in for your Lip Blush or Lip Neutralisation session, you’re excited for the treatment, you know the results are going to be beautiful. But the question is… how do you prepare for the treatment?

LIP HYDRATION

To get the optimum results for your Lip Blush treatment, moisturized and hydrated lips are the key to success. The reason for this is because it allows the pigment to penetrate into the lip smoothly causing the treatment results to heal evenly across the lip area. If lips are extremely dry or cracked, it can cause the pigment to penetrate a different depth to the more hydrated regions of the lips, ultimately causing a variation in color tones of the pigment.

We recommend using a sugar scrub to exfoliate any dead skin from the region followed by the use of our Browns & Co Lip Care Kit to prepare for your treatment. The kit includes premium quality lip hydrating serums which include arnica to hydrate the lips. If you have decided to do the treatment in the spur of the moment then do not worry, during your visit to the clinic we will be happy to add on the Lip Quench preparation treatment. This hydrating treatment will leave your pout quenched, flake-free and perfectly exfoliated, ensuring the best results from your lip blush

ANTI VIRALS

Cold sore outbreaks are often triggered by stress or trauma to the skin and lip region. If a client has suffered from cold sores previously, we recommend taking an anti-viral such as Zovirax two days prior to the treatment in order to discourage a cold sore from appearing. However, there are times in which a client has never suffered from a cold sore previously and one can appear post-treatment. This is important for clients to understand this is due to the treatment being on a sensitive area of skin as the skin of lips is thinner than other skin areas. If this does occur, there is nothing to worry about. Simply begin a course of anti-viral such as Zovirax and this will help with the healing process. During the healing time, it is important to keep the lips hydrated in order for the pigment to work its magic and leave you with premium treatment results.

FACIAL TREATMENTS

We recommend taking a small break from strong facial treatments and skincare products in the treatment area for 7-14 days prior to the treatment as these products can sometimes cause the skin to become more sensitive than usual. Post-treatment, it is recommended to put a pause on waxing, laser, botox, and chemical peels in the treatment area whilst the lips go through the healing process.

LIP FILLERS

Many of our clients pair the perfect lip blush with lip fillers, but the most asked question we receive is which treatment to do first? Lip Blush of course is always best to do first. This is because the treatment outlines and reshapes the lips, creating the perfect guideline for the specialist doing your lip filler. Also, in some cases it allows clients to review their lips post-Lip Blush treatment and assess if they need lip filler or if the Lip Blush has fulfilled their desire for the perfect pout.

CONSULTATION IS KEY

Our specialists will be able to guide you through the process from treatment preparation to aftercare advise. During your consultation you will be able to discuss your desired lip colour, any concern areas you have on your lips or simply speak to the specialist about how to maintain the perfect lip colour post-treatment.More questions on Lip Neutralisation and how this treatment will enhance your lips?
