Micro needling involves using micro needles to prick the skin, causing small wounds to the body in order to promote the body to produce more collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin help your skinto heal and look younger. Prior to the treatment, the doctor will apply numbing cream to the area in order to help the patient be more comfortable during the treatment. The doctor will then move a pen shaped tool with tiny needles across the patients face to make the small wounds. The doctor will then apply heavily concentrated hydration solutions to boost hydration in the skin and to give the patient an after-treatment glow.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves creating tiny punctures in the skin with fine needles. The purpose is to stimulate the skin’s natural healing process and boost collagen production.

What are the risks of microneedling?

Microneedling is generally safe and well-tolerated, but some possible side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, bleeding, infection, and allergic reactions. These are usually mild and temporary, but you should consult your doctor before undergoing microneedling if you have any medical conditions or skin issues.

How to prepare for microneedling?

You should avoid sun exposure, tanning, waxing, chemical peels, retinoids, and other harsh products for at least a week before microneedling. You should also hydrate your skin and drink plenty of water. On the day of the procedure, you should cleanse your face and avoid wearing makeup or moisturizer.

How to care for your skin after microneedling?

You should apply a gentle moisturizer and sunscreen after microneedling and avoid touching or picking your skin. You should also avoid sun exposure, heat, sweat, alcohol, and spicy foods for at least 24 hours. You can resume your normal skincare routine after 3 days, but avoid exfoliating or irritating products for at least a week.
